The film "Calendar" was included in the program of the Cannes Film Festival
The short film "Calendar", the executive producer of which was the student-producer of the 5th course Lilia Sklyarova, got into the Cinefondation program of the 71st International Cannes Film Festival
The film was directed by Igor Poplaukhin, a graduate of the Moscow School of New Cinema. The cameraman is Evgeny Rodin. "Calendar" - the only Russian film that got into the Cannes program's competition Cinefondation. This year his jury was headed by the French director Bertrand Bonello. The main role in the film was played by actress Irina Salikova.
According to the plot, the main character of the "Calendar" is an ordinary woman with everyday life. But every few months her normal life stops. Secretly from relatives and friends, she goes on a long journey. He changes types of transport, sweeps out traces, does not speak on the phone. What is in mind with this woman, and what is the purpose of her long journey?
Lilia Sklyarova told about her impressions:
- I was surprised and at the same time very happy about what happened. It is always pleasant when your work is marked, and the work achieves such results. Getting into the main international short film competition of the world is an obvious success for all of us, it means that nothing is impossible, even while you are a student.
Filming took place in November 2017 in St. Petersburg. General producers of the film were Konstantin Shavlovsky and Alexandra Akhmadshchina, the film was shot at the "Order of Words" studio in St. Petersburg.
The 71st International Cannes Film Festival will be held from 8 to 19 May. The competition program Cinefondation is attended by film schools from around the world.
