Kazuhiro Tsuga, The President of Panasonic Corporation, visited St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television in the First-ever Visit to Russia
The delegation of the Japanese Panasonic Corporation, headed by President Kazuhiro Tsuga visited St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television. The guests met with the rector of the University professor Alexander Evmenov and discussed the prospects of participation of Panasonic technology in creative, scientific and research projects of the University.
The meeting took place on April 14 at the main building of the University. The Japanese delegation included Mr. Kazuhiro Tsuga, Junichi Suzuki (CEO of Panasonic Russia), Masato Nakamura (Vice-President of Panasonic Russia, a member of the Board of Trustees SPUFT).
Collaboration between Panasonic and St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television reached a new level in October 2014, when the parties signed a memorandum of partnership during the Moscow International Salon of Education. Masato Nakamura , vice president of Panasonic Russia, is the member of the Board of Trustees of the University now and he is actively involved in its activities. Panasonic experts have developed a program of technological support of educational process in high school, including designing and equipping Co-educational centers, the establishment of educational television studios, the introduction of centralized information alerts and more.
As part of the April visit there was the tour by the University, demonstrated the technical capabilities. Great interest among the visitors caused the equipment of the Research Center of Digital Cinema, in particular, the unique technical devices to digitize films by staff and students of the University.
Representatives of Japanese companies were very interested in the video, which was made by students Panasonic using equipment. Rector shared with the guests of the plans for technical re-equipment and to create University TV Channel, so he invited Panasonic to participate in these projects.
It was a pleasant surprise that Panasonic Corporation decided to give to the University five Panasonic camcorders of the last generation.
- I sincerely look forward to continue our cooperation, as the company Panasonic produces exactly the equipment that is necessary for the re-equipment of the University. I started working at the Unstitute in 1981. I would like to do the best for the mother institution, and it will be much easier with such notable partners as Panasonic, - said Rector Alexander Evmenov.
