SPUFT Hosted an International Conference
St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television (SPUFT) organized the International Conference "Media and Communication Technologies and Project Management in Creative Industries: Current Issues and Promising Solutions."
The event aimed to summarize the scientific and creative experiences of educators, master's students, practitioners, and specialists in the fields of film, television, advertising, and media communications amidst global digitalization.
During the plenary session, experts explored a wide range of topics, including global trends in the development of the information space, legal protection of public domain assets in cyberspace, media management in times of change, media volunteering as a response to the challenges of digital reality, the role of strategic communications in advancing the media industry, and international collaboration as a means of promoting cultural projects and nurturing young talents. Other topics included media communication technologies as tools for achieving shared goals in multilingual and multicultural environments, decision-making tools for creative industries, challenges for creative professionals, the transformation of cultural and anthropological consumption phenomena in Russia, workforce development for creative industries, and effective media communication technologies in publishing.
Colleagues from Belarus shared insights into the practical application of media communications in their country.
The conference featured two sections involving professors from Russian universities, master's students, and practitioners from domestic and international digital communication companies.
The first section focused on managing media projects and enterprises in the media industry, examining the balance between tradition and innovation. This session was chaired by Olga Chesnova, Director of the Centre for Project and Festival Activities, Head of the Department of Project Activities in the Media Industry at SPUFT, Candidate of Economic Sciences, and Associate Professor.
The second section delved into modern media communications, highlighting innovations, challenges, and emerging trends. The session was chaired by Elina Berdnikova, Candidate of Cultural Studies, Associate Professor, and Head of the Department of Media and Communication Technologies at SPUFT.
The conference underscored the growing importance of media communications in the era of rapid technological change and the rise of neural networks. These issues are becoming increasingly critical for all creative industries without exception.
