A student of our University won an international photo contest
December, 15 at the General Staff of the State Hermitage opened an exhibition "A new look. Transforming in the ages". It was the result of an international photo contest held by the State Hermitage and the State Museum-Monument "St. Isaac's Cathedral" with the support of the Government of St. Petersburg. One of his winners - a student of our University Ivan Turuhano
The project "New Look" was launched in St. Petersburg in the autumn of 2015. Its main theme is a new outlook on the life of man, on the metamorphosis of his life path and environment. The aim of the project is popularization of photo art, as well as the identification and encouragement of talented photographers. Among the nominations - "Stories in the faces", "Urban environment. Landscape", "Events and Everyday Life", "There is always a place for discovery in life." A total of 1438 works were submitted for the competition.
Photos were assessed by an expert jury, which included the Director General of the State Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky, the director of the State Museum-monument "St. Isaak Cathedral" Yuri Mudrov, the dean of the photo department of the New York School of Design and Fashion "Parsons School "Thomas Werner, director general of the Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO Zahar Kolovsky, Consul General of Italy in St. Petersburg Leonardo Bencini, artist-photographer of the State Hermitage, member of the Union of Designers and the Union of Artists of Russia Yuri Molodkovets and other artists. As a result, 31 best photos of the contest participants were selected for the exhibition, which soon began traveling around the world, having visited in 2017 Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China. And shortly before the new 2018, the exposition opened in the State Hermitage.
Among the works of the winners are photographs of the student of our University Ivan Turukhano (workshop of professors Nikolai Volkov and Sergei Lando, department of camera art, faculty of screen arts). His work took I and III places in the nomination "Urban environment. Landscape ", and he himself was awarded an honorary Diploma. Congratulations to the young talented photographer with a well-deserved award and wish him further success in his work.
