Acceptance of applications for participation in the "PeterKiT" Film Festival has been completed
On October 5 the acceptance of applications for the 17th International Festival of Student Films "PeterKiT", which will be held at the University of Film and Television from November 15 to 19, 2017, has ended. This year the organizers of the festival received a record number of applications from around the world.
In total, from September 1 to October 5, to the festival were submitted 329 works: 193 games, 82 documentaries and 54 animated films. Among those who sent the application are 189 debutants. "PeterKiT" has an international status, this year the geography of contestants has considerably expanded: applications were submitted by students of 76 film schools from 31 countries, including 14 works from Israel, 9 from Hong Kong (China), 2 from Iceland and 1 from Martinique.
All applications submitted to participate in the film festival, will be selected to get the opportunity to participate in the competition program. The 17th International Film Festival of Student Films "PeterKiT" will be held within the framework of the VI St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. In 2017 the festival "PeterKiT" becomes open. To participate in competitive programs, work done within the educational process by students of Russian and foreign film schools is accepted.
As a result of the jury sessions, prizes are awarded in the following categories:
• The Grand Prix.
• Prize for the best directing of the feature film.
• Prize for the best documentary filmmaking.
• Prize for the best direction of the animation film.
• Prize for the best camera work.
• Prize for the best sound engineering.
• Prize for the best foreign film.
• Prize for the best debut of the founder of the Festival Victor Semenyuk.
• Prize of the scenario jury for the best scenario.
• Special prize named after E.A. Rozovsky "White Sun" is awarded by the Department of Camera Art.
The jury also has the right to mark with diplomas certain properties of the festival works.
The grand opening of the festival will take place on November 15 in the cinema hall of University (Bucharestskaya street, 22). The main jury of the festival will be headed by the film director, screenwriter, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Viktor Merezhko.
