Students of the University took part at the international action "Earth Hour"
On Saturday, March 25, a large-scale environmental action "Earth Hour" was held. Within the framework of the event, the main city attractions refused to highlight for 60 minutes. The actions were made with the participation of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg Alexander Govorunov and State Duma deputy Sergey Boyarsky. The students of our University were among the citizens who were not indifferent to the environmental problems.
"Earth Hour" is an international action, when the highlight of the most famous buildings and monuments of the world is turned off for an hour. In 2017, the international "Earth Hour" took place for the 10th time. The purpose of the action is not to save electricity. It is a symbol of respect to nature. From year to year, the event allows you to draw attention to the need of the responsible attitude to environment. Today The Earth Hour is the most mass environmental action on the planet. It is attended by more than 2 billion people around the world from more than 175 countries and almost 7000 cities.
The motto of the action «Earth Hour " this year is "Change yourself, not the planet". Students who gathered this evening at the Spit of Vasilievsky Island, hotly discussed the current ecological situation in the world. The flags of the universities of the city rose above the heads of the inhabitants and guests of the northern capital. Volunteers of the University of Film and Television were not shy to loudly support the speakers and to shout the motto of the event.
